Forest officials in Simlipal National Park arrested 36 poachers with 23 country-made guns and Sambar meat on 24th February 2012. About one thousand people from 10-12 villages of the nearby areas had sneaked into the national park on Feb 20 for mass hunting of animals. Simlipal is home to many Royal Bengal Tigers and elephants.
