Black buck poachers sentenced to three years imprisonment

In a black buck poaching case reported on June 2005 at Jhajjar district of Haryana in which Late Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was also an accused, the special environment court in Faridabad found guilty in remaining six accused and sentenced them to three years imprisonment and Rs. 10,000 fine each.

Two years imprisonment for killing 4 peacocks

The court of I Civil Judge Class-I in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh had found guilty in two persons for killing four peacocks on July 2013 and sentenced them to two years rigorous imprisonment and Rs. 500 fine each.

One more Indian arrested in Nepal with tiger skin and bones

Nepal Police arrested a resident of Lakhimpur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, with a skin and around 19 kg bones of tiger from Belauri-1 in the Kanchanpur district on 19 January 2015 night. During the police interrogation, the Indian national informed that the seized parts were of a tiger that was poached in Pilibhit area in Uttar Pradesh. Last week also police seized an Indian with a hide and 18 kg bones of tiger from Dodhara, Kanchanpur that was also poached in Pilibhit.

4 Chinese nationals arrested with 6 tonnes of red sanders

Four Chinese nationals, whom were trying to smuggle red sanders to China were arrested at Bangalore Rural district of Karnataka on 20 January 2015.

Elephant tusks seized in West Bengal

Two persons were arrested with two elephant tusks when they were planning to smuggle the tusk to Nepal at Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal on 10 January 2015.

12 tonnes of red sanders seized in Kerala

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence on 9 January 2015 seized a 12-tonne consignment of red sanders from the Vallarpadom International Container Terminal, Kochi. The container was seized just as it was about to be loaded onto a ship.
