Star Tortoises and Red sanders seized on India-Bangladesh border

Border Security Force (BSF) seized 192 Star Tortoises and 65 kg of red sanders that were being smuggled across the border into Bangladesh near Gaighata in North 24-Parganas of West Bengal on 25 September 2014.

Repeat offender in wildlife crime arrested

A member of an organized poaching group from Haryana and his associate were arrested by police with a leopard skin in Haridwar district of Uttarakhand on 23 September 2014. One of the accused is a repeat offender and was earlier arrested with leg-hold steel traps in Tarai East division April last year.
