800 Olive Ridley turtles found dead in Andhra coast

More than 800 Olive Ridley turtles, which came to lay eggs on the beaches of Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, had died mainly by the use of trawl nets by fishermen.

10 fishermen were arrested for catching fish illegally at the prohibited zone of Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary, a marine protected area in Orissa on 6th February 2012.
