A leopard poacher Jeevan Das a resident of Samalkha, Panipat was convicted to five years imprisonment and Rupees 40,000 fine by a court in Alwar on 15th December 2011. The case was in connection with killing of a leopard in Sariska tiger Reserve, Rajasthan on 2003. He was earlier convicted in June 2011 for killing a tiger at Sariska on 2004.
