Recovery of tiger cub bodies in Sunderbans have raised suspicion of poaching in the mangroves. A day after the recovery of a carcass from the Jhila 3 compartment under the Bagna range, the body of another cub, a male and probably its sibling, was found floating on a creek in the same area by a forest patrolling unit on 31 July 2015 morning. Initial post-mortem report has revealed that both the cubs had "completely black and fragile livers" — a sign, according to vets, of liver toxicity that can be triggered by poisoning. Both the cubs are aged between 12 and 15 months.
