First week of New Year turns out to be not at all good for wild animals, 8 elephants (5 in Orissa and 3 in West Bengal [Two also seriously injured]) and a Gaur (Bison) killed in train Accident. In road accidents, a sloth bear and a small cat killed in Maharashtra and a leopard in Karnataka.
