25 shahtoosh shawls seized at Delhi airport
An Indian citizen returned from US was detained with 25 shahtoosh shawls (made of under fleece of Tibetan antelope), 89 pashmina shawls and 55 stoles. A case under customs act was registered against the accused. He may tried also under Wildlife Protection Act. It's a rare case in the sense of normally shawls are illegally exporting from the country but in this case it's illegally imported into the country.
Carved ivory seized in Kochi (Cochin)
One piece of carved ivory seized and one person from Fort Kochi was arrested by Kerala Police on 13th September 2011.
15 black-headed munias seized in Chennai
15 black-headed munias were seized and one person was arrested in Chennai on 14th September 2011.
400 rose ringed parakeets seized in Delhi
400 rose ringed parakeets brought from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh were seized in Delhi three days back. Out of which 100 birds were found dead when taken out of the cages.

Slender Loris seized in Goa
Two slender lorises were seized by police in Goa when smugglers were attempted to taken these animals to Karnataka. Animals were illegally captured from Cotigao wildlife sanctuary.
Shahtoosh wool seized in Himachal Pradesh
Raw shahtoosh wool packed with Pashmina wool were seized in Kinnaur district near China border by Himachal Pradesh police on three days back. Shahtoosh wool comes from the Tibetan antelope's down hair and poachers are killing these animals in Tibet to collect the hair.

30 monkeys poisoned and dumped
30 monkeys were poisoned and dumped in Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka, forest department initiated an enquiry.
21 persons arrested for poaching black-naped hares
Tamil Nadu forest department rescued 26 live hares and arrested 21 persons from three different districts. Unfortunately only 10 were survived the rest were died due to stress and shock.

Eight arrested for killing deer
Two persons were arrested for killing a deer and six persons were arrested for purchasing it's meat at Gondia district of Maharashtra on 4th September.
Poachers shot dead a police man
Poachers from Rajasthan shot dead a police man and critically injured a station officer in neighboring Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh on 1st September night. The area was very close to National Chambal Wildlife sanctuary.

Orissa forest department arrested a poacher with 40kg deer meat, antlers and poaching equipments at Bhitarkanika National Park.
Live snake smuggling in Orissa
Three cases of live snake smuggling were detected in Mayurbhanj district of Orissa in August 2011. It's believed that an organised racket is behind these smuggling.
