Leopard skin seizure: 2 years imprisonment to accused

Two persons caught with a leopard skin in December 2008 by police at Rajsamand district of Rajasthan were convicted by a local court and sentenced them to two years rigorous imprisonment and Rs. 5,000 fine each.

Three tigers found dead in Western Ghats landscape

Three tigers were found dead in last three days at Nagarhole tiger reserve, Hunsur wildlife division and Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. Two tigers said to be killed in infighting and other is natural.

5 years imprisonment for leopard poaching

A court in Alwar, Rajasthan had convicted a person for killing two leopards in two separate incidents and later removing its skin and bones in Sariska tiger reserve during 2003-04 period. Court sentenced the accused to 5 years imprisonment and Rs. 40,000 fine each.

Tiger skin seized in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh police arrested a resident of Gondia district, Maharashtra with a tiger skin in Rajnandgaon district on 5 January 2016. Skin is suspected to be brought from Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh.

6 kg tiger bones seized in Uttar Pradesh

A joint team of Uttar Pradesh police and forest department arrested three persons with 6 kg tiger bones in Pilibhit tiger reserve on 4 January 2016.
