3 bears and 2 leopards shot dead by officials in Kashmir

To minimize the human-animal conflict, trigger happy officials were shot dead three Himalayan black bears and two leopards in Kashmir on last two weeks. Bears were killed on 31st October, 4th and 10th November and leopards on 5th and 9th November.

Hunters shot dead wrong leopard in Himachal

Last week hunters authorized by Himachal Pradesh forest department shot dead a leopard calling it as man-eater, now evidence being cited by wildlife experts and the postmortem report showing that an innocent leopard had been shot on August 11.

Villagers set leopard cubs ablaze, one dead

A five-month-old leopard cub was killed, while one other was critically injured, as villagers set the two ablaze alive near Nifandra village in Saoli tehsil, Chandrapur district of Maharashtra on 16 April 2013.
