Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate - Ramnagar had convicted three persons from Rampur district, Uttar Pradesh for smuggling body parts of elephant and deer in December 2010 at Terai West forest division. Accused were sentenced to three years imprisonment and Rs. 30,000 fine.

110 kg sea cucumbers seized in Tamil Nadu
The Marine Police of the Coastal Security Group (SCG) seized about 110 kg of sea cucumbers in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu on 11 March 2015.

Red sanders seized in Karnataka

More than 100 vultures poisoned in Assam this year
Assam looks to be turning into a vulture graveyard, with more than 100 vultures poisoned so far this year. Last week alone, 54 vultures died in two different districts of Upper Assam, with vulture experts calling for stringent action and the need for a common platform for stakeholders to discuss the issue. In January, 50 vultures were poisoned in a village in Sivasagar district.

Rhino killed again in Kaziranga
Within a span of four days, poachers killed another rhino and took away
its horn in Kaziranga National Park, taking the toll of rhinos killed in
the park this year to seven. The incident occurred 3rd March night
under Burapahar range.

Poachers sentenced to 3 years imprisonment for killing partridges
ACJM court in Bharatpur, Rajasthan had convicted three poachers on 19 February 2015 for killing partridges at Keoladeo National Park in January 2006 and sentenced them to three years imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine each.
Tiger attacked poachers in Uttar Pradesh
3 poachers whom went inside forest for poaching deer were attacked and injured by tiger in South Kheri forest division of Uttar Pradesh.

Tiger skin and bones seized in Nepal
Nepal Police arrested three persons, including an Indian national, in possession of endangered tiger’s skin and bones from Punarbas Municipality-8 in Kanchanpur district on 28 February 2015. Police nabbed the suspects while they were entering into Nepal with the animal parts they had brought from Sampurna Nagar, Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh. This is the third major haul of smuggled parts of endangered tigers in the district in the past two months.
