Asiatic lion found dead in Amreli

An Asiatic lion was found dead at Amreli district, Gujarat on 10 May 2012. Authorities suspect it could have died of snake bite or poisonous effect of local liquor that was being fermented in the area in the open.

Tourists killed a forest officer in Dandeli-Anshi tiger reserve

An Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF), MH Nayak of Karnataka Forest Department was killed by a group of tourists in Dandeli-Anshi tiger reserve. Officer was badly beaten after he tried to stop tourists from feeding crocodiles at the Kali River which is inside the tiger reserve.
